Shermin Voshmgir is the director of the Research Institute for Cryptoeconomics at the Vienna University of Economics and the founder of BlockchainHub in Berlin. She is also a regular speaker at conferences and is consulting on the topic of blockchains – especially in the context of sustainability and social impact of future technologies.
In spring 2017 I attended The Gamechanger Festival in Vienna and listened to Shermins talk about Blockchains & Smart Contracts. There I realized how disruptive this technology beyond Bitcoin will be. Shermin states, that it is more than an rapidly evolving technology, it will shift the economy completely and it needs research and application of new governance models. She sees Bitcoin as the beginning of an amazing governance revolution and envisions Tokens and Smart Contracts as the killer application of Blockchains.
Shermins book “Token Economy” will be published in spring/summer 2019.
